The next Forza Motorsport, which is in fact just called Forza Motorsport and not Forza Motorsport 8, was shown off during the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase on June 12. Heralded as “the most technically advanced racing game ever made,” the game will include real-time ray tracing and a dynamic time-of-day system. Depending on what time of day it is, “ambient temperatures” will change, which will affect track surface temperatures and alter how cars will drive, similar to weather. Turn 10 says it has completely overhauled the game’s driving and physics, and uses procedural generation when rendering tracks to make them more realistic. There will be new car building mechanics and tire and fuel management systems.
